we meet again in the land of the peacocks! no joke. secret says that celebrities who lived here in the 20's had peacocks as pets... weird i know. but here i am driving down the road and a [flock] of peacocks (tail feathers and all!!) comes walking across the road! it was so crazy! i think they're lovely - wandering around the neighborhood, creating blue and green beauty wherever they go. but everyone around here thinks differently. go figure!

(there were many more, but i couldn't get them all in one shot!)

 

something i get here in pv that i don't get anywhere else is daily walks along the cliffs. secret and i wake up and walk for a good 2 hours along these ENORMOUS cliffs with the ocean below. you can sit and just watch surfers, or trek down and meander in the tide pools. (it was here in the pv tide pools that secret proposed to me -- oh, la, la!)

 

 

so you can imagine how we thought the cliffs would be the perfect back drop! it was close to sunset and it was just stunning. what a blessing it is to live here on earth!!

oh, the weather outside is...

frightful! but [it is] so delightful!

here we are in coeur d'alene, idaho. home of the in-laws and woodsy getaways! we come here once a year (i know... we should come more!), but everytime we come we go home totally relaxed! we honestly get to be the lazy people we aren't at home! we wake up late, go for walks in the snow, eat at little diners, and visit little stores! it's darling.. but i must say, i couldn't live here permanently! it's too small (san francisco is just right)! but i got so many pictures of just all the cute things we have seen this trip and i wanted to share! here we go! (look out for these 3 later in our trip, in 4 days we're meetin up for some LA adventuring).

the in-laws favorite diner is "Jimmy's Down The Street". we go there every morning for breakfast and it's exactly what you imagine! small, small, small. everyone knows my in-laws and when they bring kids in they say "oh you must be so-in-so who lives in ______"! it's too funny! this place was also featured on "drive-ins, diners and dives" so they get a lot of business of all sorts.

my favorite toy store is here! every time we come, we pick up a new little toy at Figpickels. if you ever find yourself in CDA, you've got to check it out! the owners have done such a GREAT job designing the place and you will just die when you come in!

 

 

 i just about died when i saw these! when we lived in england, i would walk past this antique store everyday and i noticed these in the window! i instantly wanted a few to hang in "future baby sams" room, but after an inquiry, i found out they were hundreds of $$$. and how would i get those back to the u.s. safely???

 

so when i saw these here, i knew it was fate and it was all to easy to pick up a couple. aren't they charming!!!? you can't see it, but they have little french flags hanging off the basket (it'll slowly come out, but i'm a crazy francophile and collect everything french)! i had Figpickles set a couple aside to send me in a couple months [i don't want to start collecting baby stuff yet... it'll put too much pressure on me;)]

the same couple that owns Figpickles, also owns Mrs. Honeypeeps... i don't need to tell you how cute it is. even if you don't like candy, you'll quickly become a "kid in a candy store" at MH.

 

 

 and can you guess who this cute store is owned by??? yep! you got it! the same couple that owns Figpickles and MH! some people just have a knack for it!

the Paper Papillion is pretty much a knick-knack store, but it's just got all these little things that pull you in. from cards to leather bound notebooks, you're bound to find something you like!

 

the butterflies in the windows just add to the feeling of the store! such a great touch!

i've fallen prey.

it's happened! honestly, i have mixed feelings. 1- i feel like i don't have all that much to say. 2- i don't think i dress exceptionally cute. 3- i don't even like to be on the computer! i'm afraid that i'll quickly get bored and quit. but i refuse!!!

here's how it happened. i was sitting on the beach in montauk, ny. just sitting thinking about my life and i said to myself "girl! you need to do what YOU wanna do!" and i said back to myself "yeah! you do this! you've always wanted to, so do it." ANDhereIam.

so beware world. all i've said thusfar, is true. the main reason for doing this is to [challenge] myself. i have no excuse not to. i live in such a great area and have incredible access to SO many great things -- fashion, food, house projects, etc. so this is happening. starting tomorrow.

(EEEEEEE!!!! screaming inside/now i'm committed/make it happen.)
