i saw my last blog post and thought "jiminy cricket, it's been so long! i've got so much to catch up on!" and then i started laughing and said (out loud) "yeah, right, there is nothing to catch up on."
january has been delightfully uneventful for us! if you take away the playdates, met visits, and dates with the bachelor & downton, this month almost amounts to nothing. except for the crazy leaps my (and by MY, i mean OUR) child is making. see here:
>> kisses have become just "eat your face". secret thinks its gross.... i obviously think it's freaking adorable and i'll let her "eat my face" aaaalllll daaaaayyyy loooonnngg.
>> with friends traveling to cabo, australia, florida, bahamas, and the like (you know who you are, people. nothing on instagram is a secret. i know you're at the beach right now.), i thought it'd be nice to remind you what real life is like back home. it's 29 degrees, but feels like 9. so yeah, i hope you feel bad for leaving us.
>> BECAUSE it's been so dang cold, we've been hanging out at home and at the library. those chubby thighs provide just enough traction to help her sit up on her own. it's only happened once so far, but that's only because she is now focused on trying to crawl. slow down, bébé, we've got time!
>> one of our playdates this week took us to a technology museum where we had our profile picture taken... remiford b. hayes was skeptical. go figure!
>> in the past 2 months she's started what i call her "bully face". see below. she wrinkles her nose, blows out lots of air very fast and makes lots of funny noises! one of these days i swear she's gonna punch someone in the face. probably me because of all the kisses i give her 24/7.
>> (let's all just take a moment to say "awwwwwww"... ) i know, i know, you're wondering if i'll hire out my awesome personal music teacher.... sorry, his schedule is fully booked for the rest of eternity.
>> now let's all just take a moment to enjoy the beautiful sights of the park in the winter. i've come to the stark realization that i actually don't really like winter. i'll definitely tolerate it, but if i lived in a climate zone where it lasted longer than 4 months, i'd totally move. BUT even for someone who tolerates winter for now, i can appreciate how beautiful the park is with snow.
and that is it in a nutshell. i'm off to eat the burned carrots i made for dinner (no, not intentionally burned! they just burned while i was writing this..) and watch Downton Abbey (thank heavens it's sunday). enjoy your cold, winters eve wherever you find yourself tonight!
also, please answer the following question below:
you live in an apartment with no blinds on the windows. your neighbors across the alley make a point of shutting their blinds when you enter the room (in your own apartment), but recently have been caught watching you from their window. mostly during dinner time. they've also been keeping their window open (but with blinds partially closed), so you can sometimes hear their conversation. see accompanying image below:
do you:
a- wave to them the next time you catch them watching you.
b- ignore them.
c- leave a note on your window saying "hi, neighbor! we'd like to get to know you. wanna join us for dinner sometime?"
d- when their window is open yell over to them, introducing yourself.
looking forward to your response, but also open to various other suggestions. muchas gracias!
