a graduation and re-location.

good heavens. has it truly been this long?? of course, we just try to cram something into every minute of our lives, which leaves us with very little down time, and because of that, time FLIES.

so here's the download:

secret graduated and it was such a wonderful weekend!!

 

we had the pleasure of having his parents attend and it was so fun showing them all around! we spent the entire day on campus giving the family tours and it really made the idea of moving more real...

 

 

THEN the packing began. moving is always fun until you start packing, then it just really sucks. there is nothing fun about organizing and packing up all you own. the cost quickly adds up and you have to add the hassle of somehow transporting everything... you can bet that i'm dealing with one or two stress zits because of it.

 

so it started here---> complete chaos/mess.

and we ended here--> nothing left except for the bed and dressers. i was holding my emotions together at this point, so that's a great thing!

but i didn't keep it together here!! we originally planned to attach a trailer to our car, but it was too small and we really underestimated how much we owned... SO we ended up with this bad boy. secret drove the truck and i drove my car, you can imagine how a 14 hour drive ALONE went (and poor secret didn't even have a cd player for the middle of nevada.... he was a man alone with his thoughts...).

 

our last picture in front of the cottage. so sad to have that chapter over, but excited to start a new one!! our next chapter is going to be set in SLC, UT! here's the plan:

 

1- find an apartment in downtown.

2- register for classes at the U of U, i start in august.

3- get secret a desk so he can work from home and just work, work, work... what a darling boy.

4- get snuggled into our new home for the next 2 years!!!!

 

we've been apartment hunting all day and we remain diligent!!

good news.

you know those weeks where your like "well geez... this has been just great!" and like everything is going good, there hasn't been any bumps in the road and you just feel like you're cruising along???

THAT has totally been this week. and i fear i'm going to jinx it, but in that case, i'll just deal with it.

here's the recipe for a good week and good news:

1- my brother just got called to serve a 2 year mission for the LDS church in singapore. PRETTY WILD if you ask me. he speaks mandrin and apparently they do too, so it works out great!

2- secret finished school! graduation is next saturday, and it's been so dang delightful to have him around (more, i'm lucky enough to have him home way more than the average husband)(i discovered that when instructed what to do, he is an awesome cleaner and organizer! these men and their hidden talents....).

3- i changed my ringtone to french cafe music and so now whenever someone calls i perk up! i just love feeling like it's springtime in paris.... and then i reluctantly (only because i don't want it to end)answer it. IN FACT: listen to this right now and i challenge you to "not perk up". it's just such "perky, peppy" music!

4- i think we might have decided where we're moving.... :O shocker, i know! but because we've been all up in the air up until now... we decided to keep it a secret until we get there! so that's exciting right??? you'll just have to check back here in 2 weeks to see where we've landed... oh the suspense;)


on a different note: i got an unusual amount of compliments on this outfit yesterday... so possibly worth sharing and documenting??
