hey, baby.

>> kachow! and there it is. next week i'll be half way. you're kidding me!! YIKES.

baby size: 8 inches long, 8 oz. my size: normal, except with a belly. secret's size: same as usual- very buff and strong. baby movements: felt the first this week (hello, little worm inside of me), now i feel it constantly. cravings: first craving so far: root beer. what i'm wearing: lots of leggings, can fit into my normal pants without the button buttoned. oh brother. nursery progress: crib and rug arrived. more decor on the way. few new outfits purchased- there is a stripey theme going on. agenda for this week: crib assembly (secret), arrange furniture, hang mobile.

although there are still 5 months left, i know they are going to FLY by! so i have to start getting ready now, otherwise we're doomed.

p.s. if you're wondering if our moving truck has arrived, the answer would be: non. if you're wondering how i'm handling it: i'm not. my calm, composed, chill west-coast-attitude has turned into an east coast 'enough of this shenanigans', deliver-my-stuff-now-before-i-call-the-cops-attitude. nobody puts baby in the corner. (i think that's what the kids say these days...)

new york - week one.

apparently when you move to a new city, your dubbed a new name?! we're okay with a little spice in our life and look forward to the day when one of our neighbors calls out "hey, sercists"!! {with chuckles from us}

so it's been a week since our early morning arrival here in NYC. and honestly what do i have to show for what should be a week of progress??....

 >>>> that paper plate has only been there for like a day- i intend to throw it away sometime this afternoon....

>>>> we'll take the bubble wrap off the chairs when the time feels right....

> because the moving truck with all of our belongings has not arrived yet (supposedly monday they'll show up), secret has been using the radiator as a table! but with the purchase of that cabinet yesterday and we have since released the radiator from double duty.

> because i don't really have anything to unpack and i don't want to buy any "house stuff" yet, i've resorted to buying baby clothes. we've been given an educated guess as to what the gender is, you can probably tell from the clothes in the closet, BUT we're going to wait until the end of the month to confirm that that guess was indeed correct. [if not, i've got a lot of returns to do.....]

> still sleeping on an air mattress. DON'T even get me started.

AND that's that. i wanted to share these pictures with you now because once that moving truck gets here, i plan on [really going to town] with this decorating thing. so before and after pictures should be fun! (at least in my head it looks fun...)

in the meantime, thanks NYC for the cold welcome (literally, it's freezing)! the sercists look forward to many wonderful and interesting memories created here.
