defrost.

when i was 6-7-8-9 (don't know the exact age), i was woken up one morning really early by my parents who said "time to get up, we're going somewhere!" "somewhere" was a trip to san diego (in my mind the-best-place-EVER) & to sea world (a.k.a. heaven [don't worry, now as an adult i know better]). so ever since then i've been obsessed with this idea of 'surprise trips'. i LOVE surprising people. and i love traveling.

so naturally after an unusually long break from our people out west, it was due time for a surprise trip home.

because i've been forbidden to post their reactions on any sort of social media let me try to sum it up for you.

- the question "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE????" was asked a million times.
- it took my dad a full 5 seconds to recognize me and put the situation together.
- my mom started crying.
- remiford almost started crying as a result of all the excited crying going on by other people.
- and it was a dream!

it was also much needed. after complaining about the freezing cold weather for MONTHS, i finally got away from it, and vow to never again talk about how cold i am.... until next january.

so here, remiford, this is documentation of your first ever surprise trip, courtesy of your mom and dad. especially your dad who had a very hard time letting you go, but did nonetheless.

>>> flight from NY -> DALLAS- entire row to ourselves!!! PRAISE ALL THAT IS GOOD AND HOLY.

>> we've arrived! and thus remiford gets to accompany grandma on all of her adventures. this was her first time EVER riding in a cart, and it was just so dang cute, i think we'll have to do it again...

>> going to the various sports games of remiford's uncles. always a must.
remiford telling grandma: "i told her i wanted this much breastmilk..."

>> check out that sunshine!!! ooooooo, baby!!

 >>> girl loves her some sticks.

>> now we're in LA!! remiford minding her own business in the backseat until i hear a slight choking noise, i look back, her face as she's eating a tube of lotion. (fear not, i checked with poison control, all is well.) little rascal.

>> a picture to prove to you that sometimes remie doesn't put her best face forward. but we still love her.

>> just about sums it up.
