junie bloomie.

it's been a DANG good month, guys. i don't even know why in particular, other than the weather is nice and sticky hot and i'm loving the sloooooooow tan that's starting to show on my arms. the only thing i need to do to really feel good about this month is dump these pictures. so here's documentation of the month we're calling: junie bloomie.

>> these super kind tourists from arkansas (when was the last time YOU met someone from there?! it was a first for me...) were secretly taking pictures of us and came up to show me afterwards. then they even went the extra mile to email them to me! people are good sometimes:)

>>> so pretty much EVERY park in NYC has a fountain for kids of some sort. and i LOVE it. we're still getting the hang of it, but i don't even care because it's summer and i love having frizzy hair.

>>> and then someone had a birthday!! and here are some things i learned:
        1. when your kid wakes up, don't rush to get them dressed all cute, eat a delicious pancake and open presents. honestly, i think we overwhelmed her, because the whole rest of the day she was a disaster... haha so happy first, remzer.

>>> another thing i LOVE about NYC are all the various kids playrooms. so naturally on her birthday we had to make a little visit to our local one. and i truly couldn't stop laughing at her determination to get the balls... tippy toes....

>>> i thought this was going to be a huge "WIN" on my part... but it took me 500 shots and she was totally annoyed with me by the end.. see below...

>>> your annual birthday mugshot.

>> seriously, how luxurious is her life?! does she even know how good she has it??... not in the slightest.

>>> so note to readers: when it's time for your kids' first exposure to sugar, don't try and "make healthy" the dessert. i couldn't bear to give her a real cake, so i made this one with whole wheat flour, coconut sugar, applesauce and veggies, among other things. it was so dense she couldn't even dig her hand into it. which is why in slide 3 & 4 she just picks it up off the plate. #healthymomfail

>>> BUT mom WIN was having our good friend take pictures of the remzer at her big birthday bash. isn't he GREAT?! i can't even stand it.

>> i ruined her. she thought this cake was also a gross healthy cake, so she took two bites of the frosting then crawled off to the water fountains. again #healthymomfail

>> so the birthday fuss continued into the rest of the month.. and although a cute face, my back is killing me from all the "toting her around". yeah, life's so good when you're being carried around everywhere. i wouldn't know what that's like...

>> the other place we've been frequenting this month is the good ole book storage building. aka, the library. and honestly, i LOVE that we can spend an hour here with her just wandering the books, pulling them off the shelves, and myself following closely behind cleaning up after her. #motherhood

>> can you tell she doesn't like it when other people take our picture?? lol she doesn't... but WE do:)

>> so you probably heard about this whole fiasco on instagram. yeah what i thought was going to be the "best family outing ever", turned out to be a disaster. with lots of snotty noses.

she was all smiles until we got out on the trail then i think she realized how ugly and uncomfortable her helmet was because she then cried (a good HARD ugly cry) for the next hour.

>> she was NOT having it. and there was NO consoling her.

>> "this is YOUR FAULT!!!"

>> "oh we're back? thank heavens, i can stop crying now."

so yeah! there's junie bloomie in a nutshell. i'm headed off to do a "pioneer trek" with our church next week. so you can look forward to awesome pictures of me in my bonnet in july. so until then.

YOU HAVE A GOOD JUNIE BLOOMIE.

ps. the child said her first word and YOU'LL NEVER GUESS WHAT IT WAS. only because it REALLY threw us for a loop.

she said, as clear as day, completely intentional:                                                              AMEN.

now, i promise we aren't spending the entire day in solemn prayer, but we say a few prayers throughout the day, maybe as much as the normal mormon, but really? AMEN. it was totally crazy. but you know me... i'm a little bit proud;)
