i'm officially a "SEW-er".

we just got done watching moonrise kingdom. first thing secret says: that was the weirdest movie i've ever seen. lol. may be true. but is it weird that part of me wants to watch it again?? curious....

i have a major philosophy test coming up next week, and every morning "study for philosophy" is on my to-do list. but this week it did not happen. "if i study will it really help? or will i just think it will help? is studying even real? am i dreaming right now? who am i? am i real? am i an idea? or am i a dream???" study for philosophy- boom DONE.

this week, secret and took a little jaunt into the city and helped ourselves to a little smitten. if you haven't been there- GO. it's on [octavia] street in san francisco and you will not be disappointed.

while you're thinking about ice cream...... 6mo. ago i saw this picture of kate middleton and fell in love with the dress she was wearing.

i love kate so much. i just can't even tell you. she is SO DANG classy, ALL THE DANG time and i just can't handle it. if i ever saw her... it'd be a wreck. "did i just pee my pants, you ask? let's get real here, of course i did."

i saw this dress and knew my class would increase by 67% if i could add it to my closet. so naturally i took to pinterest. found a similar one. and added it to my cart.

it came weeks later, from europe and with no return address (i know, a little sketch). i tried on the dress. it fit-except for the fact that it was too short!! it fell like 4 inches above my knee and how can i be classy if i'm showing too much leg??? I CAN'T! class and leg do not go together. have you ever seen above kates knee? of course you haven't. because classy people just don't do that.

so i had to add on some inches. but because it was from europe, i could not find the lace anywhere!

so i didn't wear it for 6 mo. because i was too nervous about it.

UNTIL, i discovered this fabric store in san francisco that is 4 floors of .:*magic*:.. i found lace that was similar and i would use to add on some inches. (you can imagine my delight when the lace lady told me it was vintage from france!!)

i went home, turned on the bachelor and got to work.

i had to remove the lace trim to move it to the bottom of the new extension.

add new lace.

add the trim.

[finished!!] it was such a good feeling to know that i fixed the predicament all on my own! i love the dress and can't wait for the next occasion to wear it. i only hope that i never run into kate wearing the same dress, cuz, ya know, that'd be awkward;)

after this sewing project, i got a little crazy and have the next one lined up. you're gonna think i'm nuts when you hear about it...
